Nothing sinister. Just nature doing its thing.

Originally created as part of the artwork for SIBIIR's album Roots, this illustration takes a closer look at the tangled, decaying root system beneath a tree. Dark and slightly unsettling, although there's nothing particularly sinister about it. It's simply nature.
Roots was one of my first serious experiments with pointillism, building the illustration through countless individual dots. A painstaking technique that produced something quite different from my usual work. I'm glad I tried it. I'm not entirely sure I'll do it again.
Printed in black on Munken Pure 300 gsm.
Created in 2020.
